Introducing the Tech:NYC Jobs Board

Today we’re excited to launch the Tech:NYC Jobs Board, a new centralized hub for every role currently open at more than 700 companies in the Tech:NYC member network.

We sent the following note to Tech:NYC’s member companies today:

First, a little backstory: When New York was still in the middle of the pandemic, the tech sector was faced with extraordinary competition for talent and an unprecedented reshuffling in the labor market. As tech workers navigated what it meant for their careers — and as employers assessed how it would impact their recruitment and retention goals — we wanted to help.

So we brought in the next generation of tech leaders: A cohort of interns we met through the city’s Summer Youth Employment Program spent six weeks with us to design a tool that could catalog opportunities for both current tech professionals and, like them, young New Yorkers excited to land their first job in tech.

The original dashboard they put together is the foundation for what we get to share with you today.

This jobs board was built in partnership with Getro, a NYC-based startup that’s been a go-to partner to tech startups and VCs. There are plenty of recruitment platforms out there, but we noticed a need for one that was locally-vetted and always accurate. Here’s how we achieved that:

  • It includes every open role, based in NYC or remote-optional, at every Tech:NYC member company;

  • It automatically updates every 24 hours from direct-source inputs — not third-party websites;

  • It can filter and sort results based on several sector verticals and more than a dozen job function categories;

  • It can visualize new job postings in the order they most recently went online.

The opportunities compiled on this board make one thing clear: There’s a lot of reason to be optimistic about New York tech. Even as the broader sector grapples with layoffs and other market corrections, New York remains a hub of talent and opportunity. It’s a credit to the resiliency of our network and the diversity of our economy.

Whether you’re a job hunter, an HR executive, or a New Yorker who just wants to keep up with the latest industry trends, we hope this proves a valuable resource you return to time and time again.
