Decoded Futures Goes National: Highlights from the Nonprofit AI Jam
Decoded Futures at the Tech:NYC Foundation recently teamed up with industry giants to run the Nonprofit AI Jam. From Brooklyn to Chicago to LA — and many more cities across the country— the Jam brought together 1,000 nonprofit leaders for a hands-on sprint to build real AI tools tailored to the sector.
Decoded Futures adapted its successful nonprofit AI training program to power the event, empowering facilitators across 10 cities to run a version of “Decoded Futures in a box.” Participants used Decoded Futures' programming to learn how to use ChatGPT to save time, improve services, and better serve their communities.
It was a national event hosted by OpenAI in coordination with the Walton Family Foundation, Emerson Collective, Decoded Futures, National Center for Civic Innovation, and Fund for the City of New York.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman kicked things off with a brief welcome:

Nonprofits are on the front lines of community resilience, but often face challenges in capacity, funding, and access to new technology. This collaboration with OpenAI is helping us close that gap by making AI tools more accessible, so nonprofits can scale their impacts and do even more with limited resources.
